Have you heard of Buy Me a Coffee?

 

Me neither and I always wondered what it was and why all the You Tube Videos I watched had a little sentence above the things the person used that stated Buy Me A Coffee. It's a website that originated as a way for supporters to donate directly to an influencer in a way that the followers may not otherwise be able to support them. So, I go why not sign up for an account, so I did. I mean, I'm an adult - if I want a cup of coffee, I'll just buy my own damn coffee. Besides I do not even drink coffee, LOL.

As I was reading before signing up, the website changed, and the options are no longer just for coffee. Not even close. Now you can help me buy Diet Coke!. Just kidding. Be it boujee or not, I am not above asking for Diet Coke - or rather, funds for Diet Coke and trust me I drink a lot while I am working! LOL!

They Have also expanded their abilities to offer a Wish List, to house different products or needs for their businesses. Things like a new computer for design purposes or a new camera for pictures and videos. You get the idea.

The Buy Me A Coffee Wish List is different than a wish list on Amazon, because a physical item does not get sent to the creator. Buy Me A Coffee simply collects the funds and sends them to the creator to allow them to choose how to spend them from their wish list. 

Why would they do this? I'm glad you asked.

1. I don't want to end up with 17 copies of the same book or video, no more than you want to end up with 33 staplers being delivered to your door.

2. Allowing me to choose where to spend the funds within my business permits me to improve areas where I see fit.

• • My Cricut machine may fritz out and need to be replaced sooner than later, and I would like to be able to fix that problem rather than worry about upgrading to LED lighting for better videos.

  • The cup turner could have a motor or two that needs replaced, and I would rather fix that instead of getting new silicone molds. 

It just makes sense.
